The church known as Södra Kedum is not the church known by my ancestors, as it was re-built in 1920. It is in the village of Arentorp, and my ancestors lived on the nearby farm of Lunnagården. There are 2 Lunnagårdens on the map, and I do not yet know which one is relevant. The church of Ryda parish sits well away from a very small village, out in the countryside, which is very flat and open.
It is in the village of Järpås, and the surrounding countryside is very flat and open.
It is also in a small village, near flat and open countryside.
It is near the west coast and sitting high overlooking the many bays and inlets in the distance. Near Kungsbacka.
It seems not to be a village, just an area, and the only things using the name Gödestad were road signs and a bus-stop! This is where Carl Johan Andersson came from, and interestingly we were directed to Andersson's Gård (Farm). This is the view from Andersson's Gård - flat and open.
The church is on the edge of modern Kungsbacka. The village is a few km from the church and is only 6 or 7 houses, being renovated, and 2km from Gödestad, according to the road sign. (The upper sign points left to "2 Rossared" and the lower sign points right to "Gödestad 2")
Many gravestones show very little information -
But these gravestones may be a lead to the origin of Silander / Selander - Kjellander is pronounced Shellander in Swedish.
